Matt Urmy is the kind of intentional musician we talk about all the time on this show. An artist and an entrepreneur (among other things), Matt brought his wisdom about fueling and balancing the flames of multiple passions, what it was like to grow up in Nashville compared to what it's like now, almost losing his entire album in a tragic house fire, working with 'Cowboy' Jack Clement, the journey of starting Artist Growth and MUCH more.

Check out my new side podcast, Musician Builds a Business.
A self documented journey of me starting my new business, Nashville For Hire.
So as I mentioned a few episodes ago, I've been working on creating a website/business called Nashville For Hire. It is a place where people can hire out remote sessions from exclusively Nashville singers, musicians, audio engineers, songwriters, etc.
I decided it would be interesting to document the journey of creating this business and I just started a new podcast called "Musician Builds a Business". The Middle Class Musician podcast will of course continue with the interviews and episodes like it has, this new podcast is just an add on.
In this episode chat I introduce Musician Builds a Business and give you a sample of Part 1.

This week, I chatted with Kyle Cummings (freelance producer and musician) about how Nashville is changing, the pros and cons of having a home studio / working from home, going to school for music, how people didn't make fun of his name in High School, his philosophy that producing is a "service job" and a whole lot more.
